A homecoming celebration will be held at the VFW Post 8884 on July 10, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.The event will be in honor of the new VFW Department of Iowa Auxiliary President, Jeanette Henry who also serves as the local Auxiliary President for the local VFW 8884/A meal will be served at 11:00 a.m. for a free will offering. Everyone is welcome to stop out to meet and congratulate Henry and to tour the Post which is located at 5999 25th Avenue Trail, Vinton.

On Saturday, July 10, the Norway Bandits and the Watkins Mudhends will go to bat for bragging rights. The Annual Festivities will be held at the Gabe Kuester Memorial Park.The baseball game will begin at 4:30 p.m. Concessions and cold beer available.Fireworks will follow the ballgame.

Keep Iowa Beautiful is announcing the 12th Annual Keep Iowa Beautiful Photography Contest. Iowans have the next six months to grab their cameras, or phones, and enter one or all of the five categories.
